Job Details

Painter performs all refinish repair work on cars, trucks, and other motor vehicles, with a focus on quality, timeliness and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Plans all refinish work needed according to specifications
  • Tape, sand, and prep as needed
  • Mixes and matches paint according to specifications
  • Sanding, masking, unmasking, finish painting, seal and touch up. Must be familiar with paint equipment and must be able to adjust equipment to obtain the desired spray patterns
  • Knowledge of OEM standards for application of topcoat, curing and blending formulas
  • Use Repair Order to verify every line on the repair plan has been completed to our quality standards
  • Ability to identify and correct runs, streaks, blisters, overspray, and any other defects
  • Thoroughly inspect vehicles to ensure all necessary refinish work is complete
  • Comply with all Saints Collision Services safety standards, guidelines, and procedures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned relating to, but not limited to washing cars, cleaning the shop, etc.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional refinishing skills
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must comply with all safety requirements, respirator safety and fit test
  • Proficient with paint equipment and paint mixing software
  • Ability to read service and repair manuals
  • Ability to perform refinish work in a timely fashion
  • Ability to read and interpret repair orders
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Valid Driver’s License Required

Education and Experience

  • I-CAR / ASE certifications preferred
  • 3 years’ collision repair experience

Physical & Environmental

  • Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Must be able to inspect vehicle to determine repairs needed.
  • Good vision to inspect repair work.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
  • Must be able to reach below and above shoulder level
