Gibson Furniture has been family owned and operated in Gallatin since 1972. Serving the cities of Gallatin, Hendersonville, Lebanon, Portland, and more, we provide free local delivery and setup. This fifty-year history has a special meaning for Eddie Gibson, the second-generation owner of this furniture store, that places emphasis on quality furnishings at affordable prices and uncompromisable customer service.

Jim and Amelia Gibson opened the store in 1972, seeing a need for customers to buy locally without having to shop a large commercial franchise. As a young boy, their son, Eddie, would go to work with his dad on Saturdays, and in high school, he began working at the store. Growing up in the business, Eddie saw firsthand that customers would return time and again when they were given quality customer service and had a selection of name-brand furniture from which to choose – all backed by a longer warranty. After Jim passed away in the late 1990s, Eddie took over the store as the new owner. Longtime customers will likely remember that Amelia continued to work at the store a couple days a week until she was in her late 70s.

“Being an independent dealer, we strive to offer the best service and experience, which sets us apart from the chain stores,” said Gibson. Some of the name brand manufacturers found at Gibson Furniture include Ashley, Smith Brothers, Restonic, Bassett, Vaughan-Bassett, Liberty, Southern Motion, American Woodcrafters and Best Chairs.

In March 2007, the store expanded its inventory to include patio furniture. The 15,000-square-foot showroom features a full selection of patio and outdoor furniture by Lloyd Flanders, Erwin Sons, Ashley, Woodard, Telescope, and O.W. Lee.

Gibson Furniture and Patio offers financing through Wells Fargo or in-house with approved credit, as well as free local delivery and set-up, usually within a week of purchase. Gibson said he is very grateful for and thankful to the repeat customers who have supported the business over the years. “They are the ones who keep us in business, furnishing their homes.”
