Greetings from Middle Tennessee State University
(MTSU) Positive Aging Consortium,
The Positive Aging Consortium brings together a wide variety of disciplines at MTSU, along with community partners, to collaborate and share resources for research, education, and community service focusing on older adults. The vision of the Consortium is to help older Tennesseans lead healthy, vibrant, and productive lives with a mission to emphasize positive aging through research, education, workforce development, and advocacy.
To promote positive aging, we are excited to hold our inaugural Positive Aging Conference, Friday, June 10, 2022, 9:00 AM-3:30 PM, at Miller Education Center on 503 E. Bell Street in Murfreesboro. The keynote speaker, Dr. Julie Sweetland of Frameworks Institute, will present, “Building Momentum: How Mindsets on Aging are Shifting”. Opportunities to hear from MTSU experts and community partners in the areas of physical activity, nutrition, cognitive function, and financial awareness are part of this innovative approach to addressing aging.
We are providing flyers you can post in your location to promote this conference to your participants/constituents and partners. The conference is for older adults, professionals working with older adults, caregivers, and interested members of the community. Please see the flyer for more details. Should you like more flyers to share, please contact Dr. Brandon Grubbs (brandon.grubbs@mtsu.edu) with your name, mailing address and the number of flyers you would like. We appreciate your efforts to help us get the word out to our community.
Conference registration opens in early April and is only available through online registration at mtsu.edu/pac. Pre-registration is required and not available at the conference venue. Thanks to our generous sponsors, we are able to offer this conference at $35 (credit or debit card only).
