Homeschool Days: A Kid's Eye View of the Revolution

Did you know Andrew Jackson was only 13 years old when he joined the militia and fought in the American Revolution? Armies used teenaged boys for a lot of functions, including scout, messenger, and soldier. Boys weren’t shielded from much and they faced the same hardships and dangers as the adults with them. Explore the ways in which teenagers served the American Revolution by trying your hand at spy craft, drills and musters, foraging for sustenance, and looking at life in a prison camp. Activities are suited for students aged 5-11, from 10:00-1:00 pm. Tickets are $22/adult and $11/student. Children ages 0-4 are free but do require a ticket. Mansion tours are not included, but can be added for $7 each, subject to availability. Leashed dogs and picnics are welcome. To guarantee your spot, we recommend purchasing tickets in advance. Walk-up tickets are subject to availability.
