Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting for Music City Executive Airport Mid Field

Music City Executive Airport (MCEA) has experienced a tremendous amount of growth over the last several years. No longer is the airport a grass runway serving only general aviation. Today MCEA is a thriving airport serving corporate and general aviation from around the United States. Over the last six years the statistics yearly operations have grown over 700%. In addition to the growth, the airport was awarded and executed over $7 million in grants for modernization and safety upgrades. The airport received $3.9 million in direct appropriations from the State of Tennessee for new terminal designs and to fund the new Mid-Field Apron. The new apron will facilitate up to nine new corporate hangars. The construction of these hangars will bring in millions of dollars in private investment to the county. However, the most significant outcome of this expansion is the airport’s continued self-sustainability. Through revenue generated from land leases and fuel flowage fees, the airport has the potential to realize an increase of over $200,000 to its revenue.
