14th annual Gallatin Ghost Walk
The Sumner County tradition continues, as Gallatin Ghost Walk celebrates its 14th year of history and mystery on the Most Haunted Public Square in America.
"The diverse and exciting history of our area is told through spine-tingling tales of apparitions, ghosts, strange disappearances and paranormal occurrences," says tour creator/presenter Donna Hartley Lucas.
She adds, "over 2500 people have taken the Walk and learned things they may not have known before in terms of the 'spirits' but also about the history and heritage of our wonderful county."
The Ghost Walk is not a spook-house venue. Presenters dress in period correct attire and the walk takes about two hours and is wheelchair accessible.
"We walk the square and its environs, and many of the buildings we pass have paranormal activity, says Lucas. "Guests have taken some pretty incredible photos over the years of things that cannot easily be explained."
Lucas says the tour is "interesting, educational and downright spooky, but mostly we have a good time."
Cost is $15 for ages 12 and up, and $10 for 6-12.
Dates for this years tour are: October 13, 19, 20, 26, 27 and November 3. All tours begin at 7 p.m.
Reservations are required.

Lucas says the tour has engendered such an interest in Sumner County history and supernatural lore, that a History and Mystery group will be meeting quarterly at an area historic home to bridge the gap between the yearly Ghost Walk, so that people who come to the tours can have year-round involvement, with guest speakers and special events.
Details to come, but interested participants can call Donna at 615-512-5299 to join the list.
