Community Unity invites anyone impacted by the high cost of housing and concerned about the lack of homeless resources in Sumner County to gather for a heartfelt candlelight vigil. This event is being held to shine a light on the housing crisis in Sumner County and across the midstate.
The vigil will feature heartfelt remarks from local community, church, and nonprofit leaders, along with a call to action for state and local government officials to participate in conversations that lead to change, foster compassion, and build a future where everyone has a place to call home. The event will also include a moment of silence and the lighting of candles as a symbol of hope and solidarity.
“This vigil is an opportunity for us to come together as a community, raise awareness about housing insecurity, and advocate for meaningful change,” said April Riddle, a renter directly affected by sky-high rents in Sumner County.
