SUMMARY:Forest Bathing & Native Tree History
DESCRIPTION:We'll begin each Tuesday morning with a short walk to interesting trees in the park and learn identification characteristics & history in Tennessee. Around 9:00 we'll talk about Forest Bathing\, learn a few yoga poses\, or mindfulness to begin a sensory permeated walk through the forest of Bledsoe Creek to experience a stress reducing interaction with nature - And to be outside. The practice of Forest Bathing originated in 1980's Japan when tech workers were beginning to develop illnesses related to a stressful environment. Twenty minutes 2 or 3 times weekly of shinrin-yoku or "forest bathing" gives you the feeling of "bathing" in the atmosphere of your surroundings and breathing in the oxygen and tree wood oils.
