The mission of Honeybee Tennessee is to educate communities on the important role honeybees play in agriculture and in our environment. Honeybee Tennessee seeks to inspire Tennesseans to take action to protect\, preserve and foster the state's honeybee population. Jessica is a native of Wilson County and has developed a passion for bees! Her interest in beekeeping began with a trip to the Wilson County Fair. She has won multiple ribbons at the Fair in the past displaying her art\, her dogs\, and her famous carrot cake\, but it was an incidental encounter with honeybees at the fair that led her to her newfound passion. Today she cultivates 17 hives. Jessica is the Vice President for the Wilson County Beekeepers Association and the Middle Tennessee Regional Vice President for the Tennessee Beekeepers Association. In 2018 Jessica received the "Beekeeper of the Year" award by the Tennessee Beekeepers Association.\n\n\n\nJanice Celia\, Master Gardener\n\nJanice Celia specializes in pollinator gardening\, with both an emphasis on bees and butterflies. Her particular emphasis is on establishing habitats for monarch butterflies. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology/Chemistry and Psychology. Her professional background is in environmental chemistry\, where she worked at several environmental testing labs both in California and Tennessee. Janice spent many years in water quality as both a chemist and water treatment operator for the City of Gallatin. Having had a lifelong interest in gardening\, she has been a member of the Master Gardeners of Sumner County since 2018.
